Pell Grant

The Pell Grant is available to undergraduate students who have not received a baccalaureate degree.

To receive a Pell Grant based on eligibility under the Special Rule, a student must be: - The child of a parent or guardian who died in the line of duty while (a) serving on active duty as a member of the Armed Forces on or after September 11, 2001; or (b) actively serving as and performing the duties of a public safety officer; and - Less than 33 years old as of the January 1 prior to the award year for which the applicant is applying (e.g., for the 2024-25 award year, the student must be less than 33 years old as of January 1, 2024, to be eligible.)

## Texas Public Education Grant The Texas Public Education Grant comes from the State of Texas and is awarded to students based on the following criteria: - Register for Selective Service or can show they are exempt from the requirement - Student is a Texas Resident, non-residents or students who meet the eligibility requirements for SB 1528 - Show financial need (as calculated by the EFC via the FAFSA or TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid) in relation to the college's cost of attendance ## Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program The purpose of the TEOG program is to provide grant aid to financially needy students enrolled in Texas public two-year colleges.

To receive an initial award through the TEOG Program, a student must: - Be registered with Selective Service or can show they are exempt from the requirement - Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident - Have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance - Not be concurrently receiving a renewal TEXAS Grant - Be enrolled at least half-time and awarded in the first 45 hours (or its equivalent) of an associate degree or certificate program Questions?
